Jenni Steele | Award Finalist

Jenni Steele is a Motivational Speaker, Mentor, and Broadcast Journalist. Her popular radio show  ‘Keeping It Real with Jenni Steele’ broadcasts every Sunday 11-1pm on www.whoafm.co.uk.

Jenni created the show as a platform to motivate and inspire her audience by celebrating local heroes with real stories of entrepreneurship & success. In 2006 Jenni became a mentor for young girls visiting schools and providing workshops on confidence building. Working with young people gave Jenni the drive to set up the ‘Lioness Ladies Women’s Network’, a monthly event for women of colour to promote or showcase themselves, bringing together business women from all walks of life.

Jenni has been recognised for her work in broadcast journalism and as a mentor, winning many awards such as:

  • Role Model of the Year  – South London Press

  • Black 100plus – Influential Role Model

  • Make a Difference Award – Lewisham Borough

In 2013 she was nominated for many awards including BEFFTA Radio Personality, Precious Award for Leadership and the Inspirational Woman Award 2013 and finished the year being named in the Top 12 Influential Afro Caribbean Women in the UK. In 2014 Jenni became the National Ambassador for Domestic Violence.
